Hunting in Zimbabwe

Lion paw prints

Zimbabwe is one of the few places in Africa where you can have a completely unique, totally wild hunting experience. In this unspoilt environment there are certain policies to be aware of;

ZIMBABWE HUNTING & FIREARM REGULATIONS:

• The minimum legal caliber for large dangerous game, such as Elephant, Buffalo, and Lion is .375 (9.3mm)

• All hunting is conducted within daylight hours within national park safari areas.

• Only a mature lion six years of age and older may be hunted.

• Only a mature leopard four years of age and older may be hunted.

• Automatic weapons are strictly prohibited.

Note: Zimbabwe National Parks rules and regulations state a one shot over water counts as a kill, or wound and or loss.

GENERAL MEDICAL INFORMATION:

• Zimbabwe is a malarial area and precautions should be taken. Please check with your physician or local health authority for details of health regulations and immunisation requirements. We provide basic medical kits in all camps; however please ensure that you bring any prescribed medications you may require.

TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM CAMPS:

Upon arrival in Zimbabwe, one may choose to either drive to their hunting destination, or the more comfortable air charter is always an option. A current charter rate, by road or air will be provided upon request.
